Have a complete Army colt 1911 for sale. The frame was made around June of 1944. Has all the complete stamps/markings as follows….United States Army property ; M1911A1 US Army plus the
Ordnance department inspection ; G.H.D (Major Charles S. Reed) ; D (Colt final inspector's mark) ; and a few more stamps on the frame.
This slide is very interesting. It’s not one of them, Israel replacement slides made in the 80/90’s!
This is an early replacement slide that made by Colt shortly after World War 2. The markings on the slide are to follow…Government model Colt automatic caliber 45 with the horse stamp” and the other side is marked ” Colt’s mfg.co. Hartford ct U.S.A” and other side is “.
