I've shot one box of ammo through this gun, functions perfectly. I visited Collectors in Houston and saw one of these Colt New Army revolvers priced for $1250.
Colt New Army Model 1901 Double Action Revolver, mfg. 1901, .38 caliber, 6" barrel with two line address at top ending in 95, side of barrel marked "Colt D.A. .38," six round swing out cylinder, initials R.A.C. at cylinder and left frame shoulder (Ordnance Sub-Inspector Rinaldo A. Carr), wood grips, lanyard ring, marked U.S. Army at butt above model number, blued finish with rub loss, scratches, wear, mechanics good, bore bright, clean, good rifling, four matched serial numbers SN 643XX
Wrote to Colt w the serial number and received a nice printed document noting the weapon's pedigree.
